Colonel Morgan Jones built many railroad lines across Texas including the Wichita Valley Ry/RR, Abilene & Northern Ry, Abilene & Southern Ry and others. However, his work and efforts in helping build the Transcontinental Railroad is what set him on the path to becoming Texas' great railroad magnate.
